Pages of Lists

First I must apologize for my absence from the world of blogging.  However my lack of internet at home was a major barrier.  Now that I have discovered one of the best cafes around I am getting back into the swing of things.  If you are ever in the Stratford area and are looking for a great cup of java go to Revel Caffe and indulge!  You might even find me there working on my next post. :)

If you know me I am a planner, I get an idea in my mind and instantly you can find pages upon pages of lists strewn about the house. With headings such as what to bring,  costs, and things to do (to name a few)  it is a wonder that I forget anything at all when I travel.  Which is something that I always manage to do.  That is where my husband comes in.    He is not a list person, in fact he is much more of a fly by the seat of your pants sort of a person.  If you want evidence of that, next time you see him ask him about the time he forgot the lighter when we went backpacking on the Bruce Trail.

This is what my insides were doing when he said this...

You can then imagine how I almost choked on my Cheerios when my husband sat down beside me one morning and said "Hun, I made a list". In my shock I remained silent allowing him to begin describing what he made lists of.   He began to describe the two lists that he had written out.  The first he said was a list of all of his dreams; places he wanted to go and things he wanted to buy.  By the time that he had exhausted his imagination the list was five and a half pages long.  The second list was of all the items and places that he remembered me mentioning that I desired to experience.  The length of that list? Half of a page.

Now I was baffled.  Where was he taking this? And then the moment that turned my heart into a puddle in my chest happened.  He confessed that he realized how much I am not a things person and that I am a doing things together person - and that he could do a better job at doing things with me.  Without another comment he got up and went to bed.  (He is on nights hence me eating breakfast at the same time he went to bed). Leaving my mind questioning if that conversation actually happened - it did I am sure.  However  I am sure that this isn't the way my husband normally thinks. I'm going to credit God for this one. He is working in my husbands heart and it is a wondrous thing.

The icing on the cake about this whole conversation is that my husband was inspired to make his lists because of Pinterest. See ladies Pinterest can do good things for your marriage.
