LooseButton Luxe Box - Spring Box

First Peek!

Okay believe me or not but I have like 5 other posts ¾ written and I come so close to posting them but then I read them and something is missing

- causing me to not hit the post button.

But here is something that I can post with full enthusiasm.

The mailman delivered my Luxe Box today! Many people will laugh at the thought of me getting excited about makeup in the mail. I might apply a full face of makeup on one a month.. maybe.

But I hated not knowing how to apply makeup properly.  It is one thing if I choose to not put it on but I do not like the feeling of being unable to apply it.

Well at least apply it and not looking like a clown.  So I subscribed to Loose Button after doing a lot of research about the various companies that provide services like this one.

As a side note if you want an excellent blog that goes into detail about those services check out Jill at

Canadian Subscription Box Addict.

Okay onto what came into my goody box!

Essie Nail Polish – Mint Candy Apple

Cost:

$8.50

Initial Thoughts:

YAY! I love getting nail polish.

This color is wonderful. Definitely the “it” color of the season and I love it.

Nail polish is one of my dirty little secrets. I never used to care one cent about nail polish. That is until I became a nurse and health policy states no nail polish. All of the sudden I feel the urge to apply colourful shellac to my fingers the moment I finish my waterfall rotation. Later in the post you will hear about me complaining about exposure to parabens and sulfates in hair products.

Product in Action:

Okay I put it on within 30 minutes of opening the box – which might have been part of my problem.

I came off of nights today and was still waking up when I excitedly cracked open the bottle and tried to apply the beautiful colour.

I discovered that my hand eye co-ordination sucks while recovering from the night shift.

Nothing like looking like a 5 year old applied your nail

polish.

Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner

59ml (2 Fl oz) each

Cost:

$5.00 Each ($10.00)

Initial Thoughts

: In my last box I had received EVOLVh UltraShine Moisture Shampoo. Another brand of shampoo that set the bar high for any future samples sent my way. This pair of samples is infused with olive oil, however it is full of parabens and sulphates.

I try my best to avoid them - which I know sounds very contradictory. This one has parabens and sulphates - we will see how my hair reacts to it.

Product in Action:

Will have to let you know. I like to put these samples in my gym bag and use them at the gym… Gym day is tomorrow so you won’t have to wait long.

Burt’s Bees Brightening Dark Spot Corrector 4.42ml samples (x2)

Cost:

$3.00

Initial Thoughts

: In general I adore Burt’s Bees products.

If you want to be one of my forever friends give me some Burt’s Bees lip balm.

I don’t know how I feel about brightening.

Especially since these are tiny samples and the small print on the packaging states that results are based off of people using the product for eight week – and the amount that I received will last for maybe a week.

Product in Action:

So I tried to use this product.  My skin did not like it and it confirmed my thoughts that there is not enough product to see results.

Knotties Hair Ties (Set of Four)

Cost:

$8.00

Initial Thoughts

: These are adorable, and are something that I would never buy because everytime I look at something like them I would think “hmmm I can make these for way cheaper then that” unfortunately I never actually get there to make them.

BUT I just cut my hair to be super short, which renders these cute elastics useless for me.

I will be gifting these to a longhaired friend in the near future.

So note to self update my personal profile on the LuxeBox website.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion 28 mls

Cost:

$0.50

Initial Thoughts:

I was very disappointed with this product.

I subscribed to Luxe Box because I thought that it would provide products that I would never buy for myself.

This is something that I keep on my shelf in my bathroom and buy when it goes on sale probably for the almost the price of this sample size.

Be a Bombshell Blush Full Size

Cost:

$16.00

Initial Thoughts:

Yay! Blush!

I actually don’t own any blush. I ran out just before Christmas.

Because of this I was forced to resort to rubbing my tinted lip balm onto my cheeks and giving a few extra pinches to maintain that wind burned look.

Now I will have to get a brush for application, as my previous methods of “blush” application did not require one.

Product in Action:

I will let you know once I get a brush – who knows when that will be.

All in all the total value of everything that I recieved was $46.00 and which is a little less the double what I spent so I am happy. :)
